Couple months back I updated retro arch manually to a newer version due to retro achievement issues. I had a back up of the old retro arch.sh but my PC hard drive got wiped. Anyway I can update retro pie setup script now or am I pretty much out of luck?alt text

@uberlumby hey funnily enough the other day I copied your way of updating to 1.9.0. couldn't you download the retroarch.sh version from the official RetroPie github?

Oh I think you're right I completely forgot about that! I'm backing up my SD card image right now I'll try after. Is the retropie script still on retroarch 1.8.9? If so I won't even bother trying to update right now cause I'm still fine with 1.9.0

@uberlumby it's still on 1.8.8. Depends what you're looking to update, you could always update other aspects individually? Also I think this function should reverse your .sh file changes if you run it while inside the RetroPie-Setup directory:-

            git reset --hard

But in doing so if you then run an update you'll go back to Retroarch 1.8.8 and the defaults of any other emulators you've manually edited.

@retropieuser555 good tip I'm just trying to update emulation station I did it manually no big deal I'll reset once retroarch 1.9.0 gets supported officially.

Why did you get 1.9.0 same reason? I got it because retro achievements popping up would freeze on 1.8.8

@retropieuser555 also maybe I could just delete retroarch.sh down the line and let the setup script reinstall it? Probably could make things easier for myself so I'm not resetting everything

I was trying to fix a problem I found recently where lots of lr-mupen64plus-next games have various achievements listed as "unsupported". Thought it might be due to using the older retroarch, but unfortunately it didn't fix it.
