Button Decals
-
I'm working on my own project and recently completed my adventure looking for button decals to put inside the LED button set that I purchased. I thought I would post the conclusion to help anyone that may be hunting for their own decals.
I found multiple decal sheets for sale, but none really captured the specifics of what I wanted, so I decided to make my own. The easy part was finding 3/4" clear round labels which fit perfectly on the 33mm led button plungers... had to work the scissors to do the 28mm ones :)
Seeing as how I have little to no artistic talent I went on the hunt for icons to put into my word template that I would then print on my labels... I spent weeks and found nothing. Eventually I remembered font awesome, downloaded their free windows font file, installed it and went to work. For those of you that may not know, Font Awesome is a font file that has icons instead of letters. It's widely used in Web Site development. You can find icons in here from things like twitter and face book, to file save/open and all kinds of stuff in between.
Working with the Font Awesome I ended up with the button labels you see below. I then filled out the label sheet with a variety of admin buttons just in case I changed my mind when I started putting stickers on stuff.... The letters are some Gothic font I found on windows, all the icons are created using Font Awesome. At the bottom is a list of links to the stuff I used to make this happen. This way you can customize your own labels and get exactly what you want! Enjoy!
