Xbox 360 wired controllers not recognized
-
Hello all,
I'm running Retropie 4.0 7 days commit, and it's working great with the SNES controllers I bought, but won't recognize wired Xbox 360 controllers that are plugged into the box.
The controllers are definitely on and receiving power (red light indicator) and I've tried powering them on prior to the boot of the Raspberry pie.
Also, I've installed from source the Xpad drivers.
I haven't tried the Xboxdrv drivers because I've seen some posts here suggesting they can cause issues, and I built this out as a gift for someone so I don't want to toaster the thing.
Any advice is of course appreciated.

I too have not been able to get my Retropie to pair up with my wired xbox 360 controller. I installed, updated, and enabled the two drivers for the xbox gamepad in the retropie setup menu, but so far no luck with syncing up. I was finally able, after many attempts, to get Emulationstation to recognize that there are now two gamepads connected (my keyboard, and I'm assuming the other is the xbox controller), but I just cannot get the RP to actually sync the controller, and then move on to button config, and whatnot.
If anybody has any comments, suggestions, or thoughts please throw out a post. I am most definitely a noob on the RP/linux thing, so any help at all is super appreciated.
Thanks!

edit for posterity, and I might be an idiot
While researching a similar post on this forum (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3287/noob-xbox-controler-question/8) I discovered that connecting the charging cable/mount to an xbox 360 wireless controller does not make it a "wired" controller; a truly wired controller cannot be used "wirelessly." In retrospect, this now seems painfully obvious...AgentlemanNinja, I'm not sure exactly what your controller situation is, but if you are running a true wireless controller with the charging cable, like I was, that might explain your problem.
Hope this is helpful.
