      Hello,

      I have installed armagetronad on my retropie using the apt command and it works fine but I cannot launch it from the emustation. The ports error says I am missing a config folder.

      how can I launch "normal" linux game from the retropie interface?

      Thank you for your help.

        If you configured it as a Port, you'll need to also provide a configuration files to launch it, in /opt/retropie/configs/port/<portname>/emulators.cfg. Look up other ports' configuration file and create a similar one for your newly added port. For instance, eduke32 has the following emulators.cfg:

        eduke32 = "/opt/retropie/ports/eduke32/eduke32.sh %ROM%"
        default = "eduke32"

        Repace eduke32 with the name of your port (armagetronad) and put the correct command line to start the game instead of

        /opt/retropie/ports/eduke32/eduke32.sh %ROM%

          Thank you very much,

          I created the folder and emulators.cfg file and I get some progress but the game still does not start and gives an 'OpenGL error'. Apparently you can't have openGL to work with retropie but what I dont get is that the game works when I start it in an ssh session with -XC option.

            Is the game running on your desktop (where the SSH client is started) or on the PI ? Does the name need a X server to run ?

              Hello thank you for your help.

              The game is installed on the retropie.
              I log into the pi from my laptop through ssh with -X option to tunnel the X server.
              I start the game with the command "armagetronad"
              the game the shows on my laptop and I can play it

              I would like to play it on the projector connected to the pi hdmi port.
              For this I created a port but the game wont start giving an openGL driver missing error.
              If I set the pi to use openGL throug raspi-config, the emulation station of the retropie wont start.

              Sincerely,
              Tsinapah

                If the game needs OpenGL, then you'll need a system that supports it.

                If I set the pi to use openGL throug raspi-config, the emulation station of the retropie wont start.

                Unless you have a Pi4, then OpenGL is not available OOB in RetroPie for older models and it's not compatible with the GL driver

                  @mitu OK I will have to go for a pi4 then.

                  Thank you very much for your help
