      Hi.

I had a good search and couldnt find the answer to this one...

In some emulationstation forks I have seen a really nice bit of functionality and I dont know if I can easily replicate it... seen it in ArkOS on RG351P and Batocera.

It is the ability to show favorite games within a system sorted at the top of the game list with some sort of indicator such as a * or ** . So an example would be:

      ** A game
      ** C game
      ** F game
      B game
      D game
      E game
      G game

I realise I can do this manually but it this is done on those other systems automatically when you mark them as Favorites with Y.

Is there a known fork or something that I could use that has this?
And maybe could I suggest this as a feature request for the main RetroPie build?

      Thanks for any pointers

Probably Batocera's EmulationStation fork, if you mentioned them ?

@mitu thanks. Yes I did look at this and had a go at compiling but it was unsuccessful. It seems to be hooked into that entire OS and so was giving me multiple errors and little documentation I could find.

I was hoping there was a build that had been tried and tested with some docs on how to compile and integrate into the RetroPie framework?

The only supported version in RetroPie is the version included already - github.com/retropie/EmulationStation.

@mitu yes of course and was only really asking if anyone had any knowledge of an extension or a fork that might have this functionality. Not asking for any support on it. Thank you.

I know, but I don't think there's any other ES fork (or fork of an active EmulationStation fork) with this feature and that could be used with RetroPie. The only active forks I know of are the ones used by Batocera (which I think was forked from RetroPie's version at some point ?) and Recalbox, but - as you discovered - they're both tied - in one way or another - to the underlying OS.

Maybe an alternate frontend like AttractMode or Pegasus has the feature you need ?

@mitu ok thank you. Maybe I can add this as a feature request (on GitHub or in the forum?) and try and work with someone more talented than me on the coding of this.
