I apologize if this is not the place to look for assistance with this issue but I have scoured the web and am coming up empty handed. I am using a brand new out of the box Raspberry Pi 4 B and am attempting to blue tooth my PS4 controller. The controller is found but when I try to progress pass the "Yes or No" option I receive the following error message.

      (Traceback (most recent call last):
      File
      "/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary/bluetooth/bluez-test-devce", line 164, in <module> device = bluezutils.find_device(args[1], options.dev_id
      File
      "/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary/bluetooth/blueutils.py", line 30, in find_device adapter_pattern)
      File
      "/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary/bluetooth/bluezutils.py", line 47 in find_device_in_objects
      raise Exception("Bluetooth device not found")
      Exception: Bluetooth device not found)

I am not completely new to this but I am not familiar with these scripts or what I would need to modify in order to make them work. I really appreciate your patience and time.

This usually happens when the pairing times out - the PS4 controller stops the flashing light and the Pi cannot connect to it. Re-try the pairing process again and make sure you update RetroPie (the setup script and included packages) before attempting.

@mitu I apologize as I did not get a chance to test this out last night. I updated my system and went down a rabbit hole on a few other items. But I did notice that when I went to update the software one of the first lines of text said something like "bluezutils is missing" and then it attempted to install it or some dependency related to.

I'm sorry it flashed by so quickly that I didn't get a good look at it and like I said got lost in a different rabbit hole and forgot to go back in and locate the exact message in the logs. I will try this tonight and post results. Thank you again for your assistance.

@mitu I was doing that initially but tried again and it still is not working. The error message now only says "An error occurred connecting to the bluetooth device (Error: Device not found) instead of all that other stuff.

Go into 'Remove Blueooth Device' and make sure you remove any device you already have there. Then put the DS4 controller into pairing mode and run the Pair and Connect to Bluetooth device menu again - it should show a 'Wireless Controller' entry for the DS4 controller.

Is your controller a genuine Sony DS4 or is it a 3rd party controller ?

@mitu I haven't paired anything so the only thing that shows up ever is my wireless controller and my TV. The wireless controller shows up when I attempt to pair it but the connection never completes. I went ahead and wiped my SD and am now starting over. It is possible that I messed something up. And yes it is a genuine PS4 controller.

Got it fixed. Had to use a keyboard to accept the "Yes or No" prompt when on other versions I have been able to put the PS4 controller into pairing mode and then reconnected it, select it, and then hit "Yes or No". Working now, Thank you!
