Retropie does not work on pi4 with xbox one wireless controller
-
Purchased a Pi 4, 4GB, 32GB SD card rom Canakit. Installed RetroPie (don’t know a way to determine which version). Tried to connect XBox One Wireless Controller Model 1708 following all the videos and articles - disable ertm, install xpadneo, manually configure via bluetoothctl. Register and connect to Bluetooth Device in Retropie. Tried everything. Ultimately receive a bluez Page Timeout error and NEVER get connected once indicating the security mode of DisplayYesNo.
I am so frustrated with this, that my next step is delete it all and forever abandon the idea of using the emulators via Pi and probably never look at RetroPie again. Probably return the Pi device too since this is my primary reason for it. ZERO problems doing this with RetroArch on the Xbox itself. ZERO problems doing it with Windows 10 and the Dolphin emulator. ZERO success using Retropie with the Pi 4 and the Xbox One Wireless Controller.

@mikeb Only thing in the last 24 hours was someone downvoting my post with no replies and no helpful ideas. Awesome

@mikeb hi there. How about you give us a little more info about your setup per this thread:

We all have been there before with the frustration and trying to get things to work. I’m sure a different attitude will bring a better response from the community here.

Did you have any issues in resolving this? My issue is the exactly same. XBOX One controller is recognised but stubbornly refuses to pair.
I was hoping this would have been patched by now.... -
@mikeb said in Retropie does not work on pi4 with xbox one wireless controller:
following all the videos and articles
That could be your problem right there. "All"? You don't need any certification to post a video online.
Without knowing what you did, how can anyone help?Regardless, it's probably just a driver issue. You may have inadvertently deleted a file which one of the videos told you wasn't important, but actually was. Maybe you bumped the keyboard while editing a config file. I don't know.
