After conversion, you'll only need the .pbp file to run the game.

I'm not sure how PSX2PSP does the conversion, but for a complete disc image, the 1st .bin file might not be enough (since a disc can have music tracks in separate .bin files). It might be better to convert the .bin(s) + .cue for the game's disc to .iso first and use the .iso as the source for the conversion program.

An easier and better way (which i use all the time) is to use CDMage Version 1.02.1 Which can merge/consolidate multiple .bin files into a single .bin file and it also rewrites the reference .cue file

        eg. Ridge Racer (before CDMage)

After combining the .bin files and rewriting the .cue file using CDMage

Then you have the choice to convert it to either PBP or CHD formats .. or whatever you fancy.

Personally, i really like CHD as the compression in most games i've tried is better than PBP. (PBP have the advantage though for Mulit Disc Games)

I tried it without the cue file last night and it works but no sound. I don't see an option to add a cue using PXS2P2P. I'll look for a program to convert the .cue and .bin to an .iso and then convert the .iso to a .pbp using PSX2P2P. Thank you for your help.

@jhferguson If you have a Multi-Track image, that may be the reason you're missing music. I've had issues converting these in the past. DreamcastKids recommendation of using CDMage seemed to do the trick in these instances. Use it to merge your multi-bin file, then convert using PSX2PSP. You don't need PSX2PSP to read the CUE file if you do this.

@kookamunga These aren't multitrack. Just a .bin and a .cue

@jhferguson Do they work properly prior to compressing them via pbp? They could be a bad rip lacking the music tracks

For multi-track files, I used CDmage as mentioned before.
Converting them to iso does not work for multi-track files.
As long as there is only one .bin file, you can use PSX2PSP to make a single .pbp file.

The trick I found however to PSX2PSP, is that you have to go into the options, under common and change the compression to 1. It does not seem to work at the default (0 - which means no compression). If you set it higher than 1, the games might be glitchy.
All of mine work this way with no issues.

@kookamunga Haven't tried. I am having issues with my PS4 controller since updating. I can't play any PS games. Controller works fine in all other emulators/menus.

Fixed it. In Retroarch>Settings>Input: There are a couple options in there for Turbo Mode. I changed Turbo Mode to Single Button and everything is working now. Thank you all for your assistance.

It was the games that were converted to .pbp from an iso that were having audio issues. Converting from .bin using PSX2P2P works fine with just the .bin.
