Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3b+
Power Supply used: 5V/2.5A DC power input
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.7.1
      Built From: retropie-buster-4.7.1-rpi2_3.img.gz
USB Devices connected: I’m running ROMs off a Corsair 128GB USB drive
Controller used: SNES USB gamepad (I think it’s 8bitdo but I’ve had it for a while). ROHS Mini Keyboard
      Error messages received: No errors
      Verbose log (if relevant): N/A
      Guide used: N/A
      File: Unknown
Emulator: Not relevant as far as I know
Attachment of config files: I didn't touch any config files
How to replicate the problem: I followed the docs to scrape using Skyscraper, including generating a gameslist. I have a lot of ROMs so the scrape took about 6.5 hours, with the gameslist generator taking maybe 2-3 hours. I then rebooted my system which took about 3 minutes to load, but when I went to access any of my emulators I'm not seeing any images, descriptions or videos. I just see the default list of games.

I went into File Manager to see if any media files downloaded but it doesn't look it, even though it took all those hours to scrape.

@philbobaggins My guess is you forgot to quit EmulationStation before generating the gamelists. It's the most reported error with these symptoms.

So, quit ES and then generate the gamelists with Skyscraper. You don't have to scrape the info again, just generate the gamelists.

EDIT: Could you try and look into /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/PLATFORM/media for the media? It might not be configured to export them to the location you are looking at.

I made sure to quite ES before scraping.

I looked in that location but couldn't see any media folders.

Do you have enough free space left on the sdcard ?

I verified after the scrape just to make sure that wasn't the issue.

Re-run the gamelist generation step, then get the latest log file from $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/logs and upload it to pastebin.com, maybe we can spot the error.

@mitu I've been generating the gameslist for a while now, but while waiting I noticed something. I went through most of my emulator folders and it looks like the scraping worked for 3, maybe 4 out of 53 in total.

I can still go ahead and upload the latest log file to pastebin.com once gameslist is generated, but I was wondering if you had any thoughts on why the ROMs for the majority of my emulators weren't scraped as expected. Could it be that Skyscraper has a limit on single scrape jobs?

Each scraping site has a limit, not Skyscraper itself.

@mitu Sorry, that's what I meant, but thank you for clarifying. I'm thinking of trying again with a single emulator and see if it works. Does that make sense?
