Emulator: PPSSPP / lr-ppssppHi there.
I am testing around with ppsspp and it seems to work well. However while trying to play assassins creed it seems as if there is a kind of layer on the screen which makes it dark/grey/blurry. Only the top left quarter of the screen seems to be normal. (as shown in the picture below)
This problem shows up using either PPSSPP or the libreto version(lr-ppsspp) as soon the intro scene has ended and reaching th emain menu so I assume this could be an issue concerning the rom and not the emulator?Maybe someone stumbled over this too.. Any suggestions are appreciated.
thanks in advance

Any luck with this? I cannot seem to find anyone else with this problem except you.
I tried just about every array of settings in PPSSPP and lr as well... no luck.
Weird how its only in this game... I also downloaded 3 different versions and got the same square.

Just saw this on my own system as well. Looking at PPSSPP's automated testing, it definitely seems to be a regression on their end, so I'll raise something on their forum/github.

anyone figured out ? I got the same issue on the same game, also noticed the same dark layer in Spider-Man: web of shadows when i start the mission 2....
-
still no ideas on this issue?
recently I found the same problem when trying to play "indiana jones - the staff of kings" same system, same emulators, same problem...

I had this in standalone ppsspp then upgraded it to the lastest source and it went away. Try updating ppsspp from source.

I for me the only thing that fixed it was to overclock my pi and use another version of the game I dont wich one particularly fixed it but this what I've done to fix I know this post is quite old but it's the only post about this issue that I've found so I'm posting for anybody that didn't fixed this issue

@bleau11 what s your overclocking specs? I tried to uptade to the latest source version, change game version and still no sorted it out...
-
@bedu here you go
over_voltage=6
arm_freq=2000
gpu_freq=750with gpu memory set to 512.
Just tried again, and it's still working fine with the latest source for me.
-
@digriz Thanks mate! i just tried your overclocking specs with the latest source version (different game version as well) and nothing changed...i tried everything and i don't know what else to do to get rid of that issue.

Overclocking can slightly improve FPS but it will not make emulation more accurate. In fact that gpu mem setting is completely unnecessary on a pi 4 in regards to emulation as the pi 4 dynamically allocates memory to the gpu. That setting is really mainly used for the H264 video codec and the camera.

I am using the ppsspp v1.10.2 and i dont have this issue. Is older version but im still using it because the games running faster that the new versions.
I have uploaded it if you want to test it : https://easyupload.io/x8dr4g

@windg thanks man, i will check it later...I assume that the issue has to do something with the raspberry pi GPU, cos having the latest source, latest PPSSPP version, overclocked...could it be a GPU malfunction?
