High scores not saved
-
We got a custom made arcade cabinet that came with Omega Retropie and emulationstation v2.7.6RP. Everything works perfectly except for the fact that no high scores are saved when we play ANY arcade game. I am a total newbie here with Raspberry Pi so please forgive my ignorance.
I have searched the forum and confirmed that Hiscores are enabled.
What else can I check to make sure that high scores are saved? My understanding is that I don't need a hiscore.dat file but I am not sure.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

We don't support 3rd party images - this one looks like it's based on an older version of RetroPie.

I confirm, v0.2.97.42 is 4 years old.

@barbudreadmon Thanks for your responses. Could you please give me some pointers on what may be wrong with this older version of RetroPie when it comes to saving high scores? Thank you for your time.

@abiretropie as mentioned: 3rd party images are not supported here.
But you are free to download and install the official image, then you will get help from the whole community here. -
@sirhenrythe5th I didn't know I was running a third party image. I was under the impression that I was running an old version of Retro Pie. My apologies.

It's both. It's a pre-installed image built a by a third party before it entered your possession (probably containing games and modifications). It's also an old version.
