Vice vice.log message Warning - sync is far too late, resetting sync
-
After updating to VICE 3.5 my vice.log grows fast (+1mb when playing for a couple of minutes). Have tried changing alsa to sdl and vice versa, but the message keeps appearing in the log "sync is far too late".
This is for retropie in raspberry pi 3b+ can't find good settings for this. It will be great to know if we can define NOT to log this messages.

Modify the configuration file
sdl-vicerc
(found in\\retropie\configs\c64
) and addLogFileName=""
in the
[C64]
section, at the beginning of the file. See ifvice.log
is growing after starting a game. -

Hi thank you for your help. I added the line to the file, but the log still grows:

for the moment I fixed this by : chmod a-w vice.log
but this is not ideal as other warnings will not be recorded. -
Looks like entering an empty file name for the log doesn't work. You can set it to
/dev/null
withLogFileName=/dev/null
and the file will not be created.
