Do you need to have a completely wiped USB, or can I put all my other stuff into a folder?

Or can I just put the ROMs on the SD card directly?

@mitu To put ROMs, or can I just put it on the SD card via windows network manager in file explorer? My SD card size is 32gb.

See the Docs on how to transfer games/roms to your RetroPie installation.
The easiest method is via file shares, from a PC in the same network. USB should be used when you don't have a network connection and yes, you can keep what info/files you have on it, RetroPie only looks in the retropie folder on the USB.
