Can I Set the Disc Control Directory?

When using disc control, I'll sometimes need to load a second ISO/cue file on the fly for PlayStation or Sega CD games. The menu always opens to the root of the rom folder, and I have to navigate up to several folders to a different place where I keep my other discs (all my extras for multi disc games). Is there a way to set this directory so disc control opens to my custom directory by default? I've checked the directory list in the settings menu, but I don't see that specifically.

Yes, it can be changed. The retroarch.cfg option is called rgui_browser_directory.

RetroPie sets it by default to the roms folder. If you need to set it to a specific folder just for a system, you can modify the system's retroarch.cfg and set the option there.

Thanks for the reply. But that seems to change the file browser. When I search the config file for that line, it just matches what I saved by changing the directory listing within the retroarch menu (which was the first thing I tried). But neither seem to be affecting what folder disc control opens to by default when loading a disc (IE: still the root of the segacd roms folder, where I need it to open up to an "extras" folder I have set up elsewhere with the additional discs).

I also tried updating this in both the system specific config files and the global one.

So is this another one of those things that wasn't important enough for the devs to implement? I understand if so, as it's a very specific thing that I would like to customize (but won't make or break my setup). But just wanted to make sure there is 100% no way to change the default directory before I move on from it. Any thoughts?

You'll have to ask the RetroArch devs about it.

Will do, thanks. Do they have a forum or reddit group they specifically check?

There are other default folders that can be set maybe it is one of those. It could be non-implimented though.

I actually tried pulling the retroarch.cgf file and copying/pasting the folder I wanted it to open to to every single line that mentioned anything about a directory. That did change them all in the directory list when I loaded back into Retroarch, but disc control still defaults to the root of the main rom folder. Will have to track down the retroarch folks and ask them.
