Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

the Metadate for all the games video link is blank for some reason.

EmulationStation doesn't automatically search for the videos present on-disk, the scraper that generates the gamelist.xml should fill in that info.
What scraper are you using ?

one thing to note that ive noticed is that scrapping puts the VIDEO files in .emulationstation and NOT in the retropie roms folders. if that helps.

That's not an issue as long as the correct path to the video is saved in gamelist.xml.

sorry i have the 8 gig raspberry pi 4 and Ive tried usign skyscrapper, the defalut scrapper inside emulationstation and the stepehn selph scrappers. its just odd that the box art shows fine and the path shows where they are located but no video. I have video shown as display also so not really sure whats going on as it worked before fine.

This shows where EmulationStation expects the video to be present.

Which folder ? I don't understand the the path to the video is blank part, the previous .xml fragment showed that there is a video path set.

Do you mean the ROM folders ?

@mitu when i go tot he games in emulationstation and hit select then edit Metadata the video path is blank but the screenshot shows the correct path. I have video enable in the emulationstation settings. im baffled. Im not sure when it isnt auto filling out the path to the game videos for everygame. Theres no way i can manually type them all out haha.

@avendosora I'm confused again - the gamelist.xml fragment you posted has the video set. Do you have multiple gamelist.xml files for a system ?

@mitu actually yes . theres one in retropi games folders for each system AND in .emulationstation games folders. think thats the problem?

upon further investigation the gamelist inside retropie does NOT have the path to the video files but the ones in the .emulationstation fodlers DO. is it safe to delete the gamelist.xml inside the retropie folders to see if that works? or maybe just copy the filled out ones to retropie folder>?

@avendosora Just delete the gamelist.xml in the ROM folder(s), but make sure you exit EmulationStation before doing so.
