I noticed that all of the images are .JPGs.

Why not switch them all over to .PNG?

(unless it's about storage space)

@h2805270 jpgs reads faster than pngs. I only use png when I need transparency, so pi can handle a lot of systems

Hi, I've just discovered this theme and caught up on the thread - there have been a lot of ups and downs! But what an incredible theme, @lipebello you are truly a talent!
The theme goes beautifully with my Streamline Moderne-style cabinet, and I can't wait for the 4:3 version.

Fisrt of all I want to say "Merci beaucoup" for your fantastic theme. I had a look on many themes and I totally love yours. For me it's the best.
I use batocera since fews weeks. Before, I used recalbox. But since I bought a mini pc batocera's more interesting.
On both os, I've dl your theme but I don't know why, the jpeg files for certains systems don't appear...
It's just a black screen. I can enter into this systems and find the differents roms, but same problem, the jpeg file for the roms doesn't appears.
I've check into the systems files of your theme and I have found nothing wrong.
Does anybody meets the same problem and/or have a solution to propose to me.
(sorry if my english is not very good...)

@joe-gillian Hello, thanks a lot! I don't know much about emulationstation on batocera and recalbox (i've only heard that recalbox use a lot of memory), since they use a different version of it, but in retropie, i go to the ui settings menu (start) and change the vram to 80~100 and it doesn't show blank screens

@lipebello Thanks for your answer. I tryed your idea but nothing has change. The same wallpapers don't appears. I notice that when I enter into this systems, I can't see any text for the descriptions of the games, just the covers of the differents games and their names. So I make a supposition, maybe the problem comes from the gamelist file ? Anyway, the theme is always over cool, just not perfect on my setup.

@joe-gillian if another theme shows the texts, then the problem it's on the theme. But you download the theme on my github page or someone converted the theme to another emulationstation ports? maybe the theme needs some fix to run good on batocera and recallbox, but it would need someone who knows about them to confirm this, since i've only used recalbox once and it was on 2017. Don't know how it works

@lipebello I think you are right. I downloaded the theme from your github and tried others that don't have this problem. Maybe I should try updating my batocera. I'll try this soon and keep you posted.

I see that some of you are able to get a marquee or steam grid image to appear in the box to the left of the game rating. How is this accomplished? It’s just a blank space for me. I’m able to get the 2-D box art, metadata, and video preview, but that’s it.

@joe-gillian i think that recalbox and/or batocera have a different theme code and should be remade for it. There some videos on youtube where people are showcasing it for batocera and recalbox

@Zapan i use video view but i don't scrape videos, just screenshot and marquees

@lipebello Hi there,
Your Retrorama theme is the best theme I can find, it is awesome.
But for some reason I am not getting the Magnavox Odyssey 2 screen appearing.
I have tried updating the Retropie script, un-installing the Retrorama-Turbo theme and re-installing.
Will not show the new Magnovox screen, just blank???

Please help.

It's ok now, I fixed it.
I edited the <theme/> name in the es systems configuration file here:

sudo nano /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

Then I edited the following as my file had "videopac" as the theme name, so simply retitled it to "odyssey2" and now the new screen appears:
