HORI Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa not registering ZL and ZR buttons

Hello all, I am using a Hori RAP-V switch model on my Pi400. While having the stick set to PC mode I cannot get the ZL or ZR buttons to register input. I've ran into this problem while trying to configure through emulation station and have had issues using ReDream as well.
Emulation Station won't recognize the stick at all under Switch mode which I think you need for ZL and ZR? It's an issue when trying to play fighting games for example as the sticks layout is :

B A ZR ZLMan I just need that ZR! I apologize if this has been asked. I tried to search for it but the most I could find was trying to pair 8bitdo and Pro Controllers. Thank you!

If the switch maps ZR/ZL to axis (instead of buttons), then EmulationStation (where I assume you try to register them) will ignore them as buttons. Have you tried to map them to LT/RT (the should trigger buttons) ?
