@oleguer if you go to settings and then raspian configs, there is an option there to set a resolution.

@oleguer What's the exact resolution you want to set up and it's not present in
raspi-config
? Is your TV connected via HDMI or the analog composite jack ? -

raspi-config
? Is your TV connected via HDMI or the analog composite jack ?@mitu the old versions of retropie have hdtv modes ((named cea1,cea2,cea3,......)) I want this modes (for hdtv conected by hdmi port) to use default..... you know what I want?? Thank you!!

These are modes are still present in the current RetroPie version. You'll have to give more details about your setup.
-
@mitu in my actual setup ((default last version 4.7.1)) only can change between pc screen but can change to hdtv modes.... this is I want, change the defaults option can choose between monitor (default) to hdtv (cant see this options) you understand me?? thanks and sorry for bad english ''^^

@oleguer by default, retro pie negotiates with your tv/monitor to set a resolution (mode). If you go **raspi-config ** then select advanced options, then select resolution, you can force whatever mode you want there.
I hope that narrows down what you are looking for. -
@oleguer Not sure if you're talking about the
raspi-setup
resolution options or theruncommand
launch menu (where you set the video modes). What platform are you using with RetroPie - is this a Pi (which model ?) / Odroid / other SBC or a PC ? -
@mitu my raspberry is rpi4 8gb ram but I connect them to 1080p hd tv for this reason I want enable the hdtv resolution modes by default because the default modes are pc resolutions
-
@oleguer can you post a screenshot of what it's not doing right or something?
-
@oleguer The CEA video modes you're referring to are set via
tvservice
, which doesn't work correctly on the Pi4 so those set of video modes are not available. The runcommand launch menu shows the resolutions that your TV reports it supports - that's what is offered for the video mode change. You can set still a custom resolution via
config.txt
(see https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/hdmi-config.md) if you wish to use a video mode not reported by your TV.
