I have reinstalled retropie multiple times now but everytime i try to start a sega genesis/megadrive rom it's not loading.
When i switch to dgen the game runs but de controls are messed up.
I would like to use picodrive because it uses the control mapping of retroarch.
Does anybody else have this problem and does anybody know of a solution.

Just my opinion, but I find genesis-plus-gx to be superior to both of those emulators. It uses retroarch core remappings and is more accurate in emulation than both of those. It just doesn't run 32x.

              for some extra information.

i am using the pi 3 with the latest retropie v 4.0.2.

i used both the preinstalled emulators ( picodrive and genesis-plus-gx ) with both of them when i run the rom the screen goes black and returns to retropie.

The only emulator working is dgen.

What is the rom filename ? Please trigger the "runcommand" menu when launching (https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/runcommand) and choose option L Launch with verbose logging. Then post via pastebin.com the contents of /dev/shm/runcommand.log

You can access that location using sftp.

I finally figured it out the problem was that all the filenames had an # in it.
Somehow dgen had no problem with the filename but picodrive and genesis-plus-gx both had trouble with the extra symbol.
Glad i got it to work that part was giving me trouble for the past week.

Old Retroarch bug. No fix currently apart from renaming.

@Lyle_JP I'll have you give that a try - I've been using Picodrive since RetroPie 2...
