I keep getting this when I try and load a MAME rom. What does it mean and how do I deal with it?

Doesn't the log file show MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe error running on a WIndows 8.1 machine?

Not sure if it's relevant - I suppose this is from your PC, not from the Pi.

The message/error means that you've chosen a custom resolution from the runcommand launch menu, but tvservice (the utility that applies the video mode configuration) was unable to set that video mode. Could be because your monitor/TV does not support it - but without extra info it's not obvious.

Also, a phone charger is not a substitute for a proper power source - you risk sdcard corruption/device throttling/disconnected peripherals.

@iandaemon I'm starting to enter a world I know very little about so I'm afraid I have no idea, sorry.

                Thanks for replying though.

@colstar So now have a PSU , 5v/ 3A and had very minor success , managed to get one rom to load minus sound, but the error message has changed slightly. It now says 'Failed to Power SDTV with explicit settings Mode:2 Aspect:1. (??)

@colstarJust remove any custom video modes you have selected for the ROM/system and the emulator will use the default video mode.
