I searched and all I can find is information for people asking how to use their dpad as an analog stick. I can't get retro emulators to use the dpad INSTEAD of analog. It worked when I had just a few roms but after transferring a new collection the dpad is not functioning in any nes or snes emulator. Thanks if you can help...

I may have figured this out, but in some emulators, the A button brings up the in game menu! Help?

@cametokur Try to first uninstall and reinstall the xpad driver in RetroPie-Setup, and then remap the controller in ES. The wired-only version of the SN30 Pro is treated as an X-input device, so it behaves like an Xbox 360 controller as far as RetroPie is concerned.

The Xbox controller has been causing me some problems in the past. If your 8bitdo gamepad is set on x-input mode it might act in the same way as a regular Xbox controller.

I'm not 100% if your issue matches the symptoms I had encountered myself, but consider checking this post. There is a solution at the end that.fixed the problem for me.
