Quakespasm, Xash3D Half-Life and other ports from PiKiss in RetroPie Setup Script?
-
PiKiss has a bunch of setup scripts built into it for numerous ports that are unavailable through the RetroPie Setup Scripts.

I'm mostly into the Quakespasm port and Xash3d Half-Life port, but there's quite a few in there that have controller support and their own setting menus so those don't need to be wrapped in a librerto core. Is there any way we could get some of these added to the optional/experimental packages. Obviously the setup scripts would need to be modified slightly to install correctly into the RetroPie port directory structure but there are some real winners in that list that could add a lot to the RetroPie experience.

Xash3d Half-Life port
that is already in from the help of zerojay. here

@exarkuniv Thanks. I wasn't aware of those extras. I suppose I could try to put in a request to zerojay to add Quakespasm to that list.

@reverieware you can see. he does pop on and off, but its been while.
if is fun getting these things to work on your own. i have a hand full of scripts that i have wrote to get more ports install on my system -
@exarkuniv Definitely. I've spent quite a bit of time tweaking both of those ports to get them working really well and I can definitely get them launched and running properly through RetroPie without any trouble. I just think both of those should be standard options through the installer script, especially considering the lr-tyrquake (the recommended option) is archaic, plus no one in the mod community uses it. Also, the DarkPlaces port barely works. It's also a little sad that Half-Life isn't standard in the installer script. That should definitely be in there. It's a classic!
I did see that zerojay has an issues section of that github where it looks like requests can be made.

@reverieware give it a shot. it cant hurt.
as for adding things to the Retropie setup. as far as i have read from the devs. just submit the script through the github and they review it. but i think they are more worried about getting things running smooth then adding more ports. at the moment at least
that why i just hold on to anything i make. maybe one day ill send them in
