@darksavior I acquired a 2003 version of the ROM and got it to work on lr-mame2003. It runs pretty smooth but yes the shadows are glitched (it does have a warning that emulation is not 100%). I never played this game but it appeared the mini game where you get health by kicking knomes for chicken wings was totally screwed up. Anyway this game is pretty sweet, I hope someone works on it. I will donate to the cause.

Would this be worth creating a bounty for better emulation? I will gladly pay up.

IS there any new info on getting this game to work? I tried today with a fully updated RetroPie 4.4 install and the ROM would not load except when I installed mame2010 and even then it was nearly unplayable due to it not being anywhere near full speed.

If I recall correctly, we need Mame 2016 working in order to play this without the "mode 7" glitches and what have you.

Has there been any advance in this game? I'm using mame2003plus but it's glitchy as you said.

@rek607 It will never work properly on mame2003plus due to the amount of code required to backport. Get a pi4 and use mame2016.

@rek607 You'll need a newer arcade emulator to benefit from the updated drawing code (which will never be backported to MAME2003+ for performance reasons), FBNeo and MAME starting from 2016 should be ok. Note that Sega System 32 emulation still has gfx issues to this day.
