Pixel 3D
-
@sirhenrythe5th Sorry, I am Spanish and there are some things that I do not understand, because I use retropie 4.7.1 and what happens is that there are too many pixels in games that are 3d, it does not let me take a photo because it says that it is heavy, but imagine you have something with low resolution, although I have it in 2k in full screen, I do not understand why this happens, I tried other screens and even another system with emulators but it still happens (I think I used the same 64 emulator, thanks

@xurde000 pas de problème: i am an israeli currently living in germany, so this is forum is open for non-english-native speakers :)

How to replicate the problem:We know allready that you have a Pi4 with 4GB RAM.
But even more important is which image you have installed and how ;) -
@sirhenrythe5th I put it in a micro SD with rufus, and I put it in the raspberry, then in a usb I created a folder called retropie, it created folders and in the n64 I put the Mario kart, then with the raspberry turned on I put the usb and it was installed the game, what data do you need exactly, explain to me in detail that I am new, please, I use the official charger and a ps3 controller, I have nothing else on, I would like to send you a photo somewhere so you can see what I mean but I don't know where i can.
-
@xurde000 try turning on biliner filtering for 3D games.
-
@lostless how to do
-
@xurde000 Use the Configuration Editor and turn on Video smoothing for N64 games.
-
@mitu Hi, what you said didn't help me, how can I show a picture of what I mean?
-
-
@mitu I uploaded two photos to MEGA of the problem (I think it is that the textures do not line) in the image it looks better than on my screen but when increasing to the face of the tekken you can see the pixels everywhere, I'm quite sad because I actually bought it for that, hope it can be fixed https://mega.nz/folder/gl432AiS#tEF0PTO9wGtHpJlHguQMsw
-
@xurde000 What's your monitor / TV resolution ? What emulator are you using for N64 games ?
I'm quite sad because I actually bought it for that,.
what exactly did you buy ?
-
@mitu Well, the monitor is 2k, but I tried on two other screens and the same thing, the emulator is the default of retropie
Raspberry pi 4 4GB
-
Well, the monitor is 2k
Use
raspi-config
from the RetroPie system in EmulationStation and force a 1080p resolution, then see if the video looks the same in N64. Alternatively, you can use the Runcommand launch menu to choose 1080p as resolution when starting a N64 game - you can give that a try also. -
@mitu Can you explain it to me step by step? I don't speak English very well and I use the translator 🙏
-
@mitu I just saw what happens to me with almost all the emulators that have diagonal pixels, why does that happen?
-
-
@mitu but is it normal that it happens to me in all emulators?
-
@xurde000 it's not normal - i.e. doesn't happen for most users - but I suspect the emulators might use a weird or wrong video resolution reported by your monitor. This is why I asked you to change the video resolution to a well known/behaved option.
A verbose log would be useful here, but it might be complicated for a new user to get it and post it in the forums/elsewhere. -
@mitu I tried with three screens and the same, if you explain to me how I do the verbose log I do it
-
@xurde000 Just to make sure - did you try with the 1080p (1920x1080) resolution and you still get the same artifacts ?
To get the verbose log file, you'll need to:
- enable SSH and connect with a program like WinSCP to your Pi, from a PC on the same LAN/WLAN.
- run the game and enable verbose logging before launch, as explained in the Runcommand doc page, then exit the game.
- copy the
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
file using WinSCP to your PC and then copy/paste the contents of the file to pastebin.com. Provide the link that pastebin.com will give you here in the topic.
-
@mitu hello, I could not do it, in the settings trying to install an emulator it tells me that my raspberry is not compatible with the application because it is 32-bit, does it have something to do with it? I understand that it can be set to 64 because it supports it.
