      I saw a previous post of someone saying they could do this with MAMEdev on the x11 desktop but I also read a different post that it took someone 51 days to get it compiled! :D

      Has anyone managed to do this on a RPi4, in retropie or otherwise?

      Cheers!

        well it runs well with little slowdowns with lr-mame2016 on pi4.

        Currently running Retropie 4.7.19 on a Pi 4B 2GB
        Overclock Settings: CPU 2000, GPU 600.

          Thanks for info! I tried that last night and lowered all the upscale settings I could find.
          It played well when not much was going on but as soon as the sprite count went up it started stuttering.

          I'm not overclocked (yet). Maybe I should try that.
          Any other tips on settings?

            well i did not change any settings only overclock the pi4.
            i believe overlock it you will see huge change.
            Also dont put any high quality filter ,only use scanlines if you want.

              Cheers I'll try to overclock today and will post back with how it went!
              I'm not using any filters at all to start with.

                I just tried overclocking cpu to 2000 and there was indeed a good improvement! Nice!
                It's still stuttering when it gets really busy on screen but much more playable now!
                I'll see if I can go to 2200 as you seem to have done. Might have to get a Big heat sink! :)

                    Nice looking Box! I'd get one but I'm doing a cardboard diy PiPad thing so I'll have to find some sink I can attach to my layout. It crashes for me @2200 and is super hot. 2000 just crashed as I didn't cool it down in-between runs.

                    work in progress - but cardboard is staying!

                      Hi again! I just got the sink I ordered and it seems really effective! :) But I have just used it for 15 minutes yet! (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091L1XKL6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details)

                      But I wanted to ask some more advice.
                      When I now run Espgaluda II the game is running at too fast tick time so the game is really sped up. I tried to change a overclock number in the Retropie(?) menu but even at 150(% ?) it didn't seem to change the play speed.

                      Does anyone know where I need to compensate?

                      The other thing, which is not a huge deal is that the CPU freq app in the desktop reports 2394 MHz when I use these settings:

                      force_turbo=1
                      over_voltage=8
                      arm_freq=2200

                      Is that normal?
