I've written an installer script for OpenJK Jedi Outcast.

      https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gderber/RetroPie-Setup/feature/openjk_jo/scriptmodules/ports/openjk_jo.sh

      Looking for feedback for improvements.

Note: I need to fix the Help description. Currently on my phone. Will fix later today.
You need to copy assets[0-2,5].pk3 into ~/RetroPie/roms/ports/jedioutcast

My copy of JO only has assets0.pk3 and assets1.pk3. Can you confirm there is also a assets2 and assets5?

        Edit:
Nevermind, I read that the original game disc didn't come with the extra pk3 files. They were part of a free patch. I'll look to source them elsewhere and will report back.

Just tested out your installer script. Works like a charm! No issues to report on my end. Very good performance on my pi 4.

@quicksilver That's good to know. The installer help information may need an update. Especially if the game will run without them.

I should have noted that in my test I was able to source those additional .pk3 files. I will test without them just out of curiosity. But I would leave the help section of the script as-is for now.

@proletariate1984 as long as the .pk3 files are in the $romdir/jedioutcast/ then you will be good.

as long as it installed correctly. i know i had a issue but i tried in on a Pi3. i have not tried it on my Pi4 yet

@sharkticonnz you need to copy the script in the first post. and drop it into the script folder on the pi.

i was planing to make a easy way to install it. i just have not gotten around to it yet.

Hi, just tried the Jedi Outcast script from ExarKunlv. I put the .pack Files in roms/ports/jedioutcast /base. The game started but after pressing New game all crashed. After some looking i noticed that some files from the build are not correctly copied or linked not sure. I solved the problem by copying all files from /opt/retropie/ports/openjk_jo/ to /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/jedioutcast/ now the game starts and runs very good
