    Current Set-up:
    PI 4B 8GB
    5.1 V 2.5A
128 GB USB SSD (Booting from usb device)
Roms run from external 128 gb flash drive
2 sets of arcade joystick and LED buttons

I have img backups and backup my flash drive retropie-mount folder relatively often, but does anyone have a script that can back up certain folders like /opt everyday so that configs are saved when I make changes?

You can copy any file or folder from the file manger.

      RetroPie Configuration > File Manager.

My English isn't at a good level.

Another option would be to use Duplicati [1] on your desktop system and backup to it your retropie-files (/opt/* or whatsoever). You may run the backup on a shedule or -if plan to do crucial changes- manually beforehand. From my experience it has not a steep learning curve.

@hellothere You may also consider using rsync in conjunction with crontab.
