    Hi,

I updgraded to 4.0.2 today and I previously had RP setup to save the game state on exit (start + select) and then load it on game start. Since the update it has stopped working yet I've checked the config file and it remains the same. Is this a known bug or does anyone know how to fix it?

    Details are:

    Pi Model: 3
    RetroPie Version Used: 4.0.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website (3.8)
    USB Devices connected: None
    Controller used: 8bitdo FC Pro
    Error messages received: None
    Emulator: All emulators
    Attachment of config files: http://pastebin.com/rcXLTsfq

    Thanks!

      Hi!
Just checking: Does auto-load still work for you?

The reason I ask is because I seem to have the same problem. I've configured automatic save-states and the existing savestates are loaded, but no new automatic savestates are created when exiting the emulator.

Yep. Autoload appears to work fine for me as well, just not autosave.

It appears that to auto save you have to go to quick menu then close rom at that point it does the auto savestate and you can select start out.

What version of RetroPie were you using before upgrading to 4.0.2?

Go to the retroarch.cfg file of the system (emulator) and see whats inside it. I had a similar problem.

If that file contains many crap just do the following:

Delete the retroarch.cfg file of that emulator, update to the last Retropie script, and reinstall the emulator.

It's a problem with the official retroarch version.
I had the same on an Android version. With a newer nightly it is working again.
