[ES Theme] Nostalgia Pure

Great work on this theme! Looks amazing and by far my favorite from anything I've seen online.

I just built a new RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB and wanted to showcase the work @GeekOB did on getting this to run on a RetroPie / RPi.

It looked great! ... but I had some issues with it loading the background screen files for each system and it just overall ran a little sluggish for me. Looking at this thread, it seemed like I may not be the only one experiencing that.

I took a look and noticed the those PNG files seemed to be pretty big - each coming in (on average) over 1mb. I went ahead and compressed those images down - about 50% each and tried it again and it runs much better! Hard to tell a difference with the compression and the theme now runs much snappier on my setup.

For anyone else wanting to give this incredible theme a go on a similar setup (Retropie on RPi 4 B 4GB) here is a link to download the compressed background files:

Download is just shy of 50mb.

Simply replace the files in the /_assets/backgrounds folder and go it go!

Thanks for the best theme ever for ever. I use the lite version.

For one System i don't have a logo. For my computer starting project: Commodore VC 20 (in america called VIC 20.

I uae the background from c64, because the vc 20 looks like c64.

But i don't get a vc20.svg
My drawing skills are to bad.

Is someone here, that can create one for me?

Is it possible, that i can view the filename of the game in the details of a game on the right side, under rating or the other facts? Some games, i have 3 or 4 versions of the game, because another language versions...

That's not theme issue. Theme only reads filenames or gamelist.xml. When you scrape games, confgure your scraper to add suffix to the game name (you can do this using Skraper to generate gamelist and download artwork)

thx for the upload.. this theme is indeed the best out there..Sadly it is incomplete..it is missing ALL GAMES, LIGHT GUN and some others..... Hopefully somebody can finish this..

Wow this theme is amazing. But i tried to follow few instructions from here and it is a bit confusing, at least for me. I want to use this theme with ES on Windows 10, but seems like alot of configuration. Everytime i try, something is messed up. I don't know if i have the good version from ES, and then configuring it seems hard. Anybody already installed this theme and everthing works fine? I want to use emulators up to WiiU and PS2. If anybody can offer me some help, i can even pay for that help. Thx!

Installation:

copy to sd-card

Themes can be copied to either /etc/emulationstation/themes and /home/pi/.emulationstation/themes, they're read by Emulationstation from both locations.

copy via network:

Windows: Open \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\themes\ in the Windows File Explorer
Linux: smb://retropie.local/configs/all/emulationstation/themes

IMPORTANT: I recommend EmulationStation's VRAM setting at (min.) 120Mb (Rpi4).
(Main Menu > Other Settings > VRAM Limit)
