I bought the retro game console Raspberry Pi called RetroPie in June this year. I bought a 2 Xbox 360 (wired) controllers. The console has been working fine with the two controllers.

About one week back, suddenly both the gamepads were not detected by the console. I restarted the controller by switching off/on the power. Still the same problem.

I connected a keyboard in Control Pad 1 and it was detected immediately. I could control the games with the keyboard. When I reconnected the gamepad, it was still not detected.

Out of frustration, I left the console on with a keyboard connected to Control Pad 1 and gamepad to Control Pad 2. When I checked after about 1 hour, I was delighted to see that the gamepad indicated that it was detected. I could control the games with it. I replaces the keyboard with the other gamepad and, to my delight, it was also detected. We played for about 2 hours without any problem.

But since than the same problem (i.e. no detection of gamepad) has been persisting. No problem with keyboard. Today I again left a keyboard and a gamepad connected to the console for about 2 hours to see if the gamepad gets detected like the last time. But no such luck today.

Since the same problem is happening with both gamepads and, since last time both the gamepads were automatically detected after 1 hour, gamepad problem does not appear to be very likely. I am at a loss to understand the problem. Meanwhile, I can’t play any game on this console with that gamepad. I really hope that someone propose can a solution for this gamepad detection problem. It would be very much appreciated.

You should add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

From the looks of it, it might be power related - the power supply may not be providing enough power for both gamepads to be connected ?

@zahir A picture might be not enough to cover all the info asked or help to diagnose the issue. Did you buy the system preloaded with RetroPie and games ? If you assembled the system yourself you should be able to answer some of the questions asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

For the question, 'Did you buy the system preloaded with RetroPie and games?'

            Yes I did.

@zahir Then you should ask the vendor for support.

We don't support scammers that sell systems with RetroPie and games preloaded - selling systems with RetroPie image installed is agains the project's license, and that's without mentioning the legality of game bundling.
