Another problem that i face was with lr-flycast, all games return to rtropie menu when im trying to play them.
verbose log please

@windg can confirm the latest version of lr-flycast broke some games, mostly the naomi ones. Marvel vs capcom 2, capcom vs snk, heavy metal geo now crashes when starting.

I'm looking into the binaries issue.
-
The rpi4 binaries folder on the server had the wrong permissions. I'm not sure how this happened. Possibly an issue on the build system which was duplicated to the server with rsync.
I have corrected it. You will need to switch any packages that have been installed as source to binary from within manage packages.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Updated to 4.7.20 and on testing I now get audio dropouts with the latest lr-flycast (updated from source, and also tried deleting then re-installed from binary). I also get major problems with Ikaruga where the audio really cuts out and the video actually seems to desync and the controllers become unresponsive during cut scenes and remain that way with the ship being immune to enemy bullets.

I think the issue affect and the EmulationStation for Pi3B+, because during the update is building it from source.

I can made a question.... it's the update procedure has been fixed right now ?
I see the discussion it's migrated from update issue to a core usage trouble.....

I just update a Pi4 from 4.7.1 to .20 without problems, the issue was fixed. The problem with lr-flycast is something different, i create confusion with my first post sorry for that.

Has anyone tested WinCE-Games yet?
I just run "SEGA Rally 2" yesterday.
It boots indeed, but i had a total freeze in the main menu and had to power off the pi to start again.
I did not test other WinCE-powered games after that to avoid more hard crashs.Concerning NAOMI: at least "Crazy Taxi" seems to have issues too, does fall back to ES as well.

@windg II try Sega Rally 2 and its working but doesn't have perfect performance. By the way the games that didn't work yesterday they are running fine now , i did a update before maybe a new version of emulator released.
Just to add some extra information, Dreamcast games that i try (Resident Evil Veronica, Sega Rally II) they are working fine with the new lr-flycast on RPi4 ,but the are crashing back to RetroPie on the RPi3 B+. I didn't test NAOMI games yet.

@windg thank you for your answer, i will update in the evening too and have another look :D
-
@windg Sorry - yes the rpi2/3 supplementary folder also had the wrong permissions. They all should have the correct permissions now. Sorry for missing this.
The issue came from the build server, so I will make sure I double check the permissions before syncing.

No problems man..... i have read the trouble about the update procedure using, in some case, the source and not the binary package from some components and yeah i'm also i can confirm the update procedure it's be fixed.
I have successfully update also my pi4 setup from 4.7.19 to 4.7.20 :)Little OT.
Read your signature... also my English it's very Bad... i'm a reeallly fan of google translator after retropie :) -
strange....did two updates yesterday, first: binary, second: from source - NAOMI still does not run anymore.
I will have a look at the verbose-log today and continue to find out what is wrong.Tinkering with Retropie never does get boring: one problem solved - two others created :D :D

Yes, it's a bug in the RetroPie build of the new Flycast core (see the linked issue above) and at the moment it's crashing with Naomi ROMs. I'm testing some things for a fix.

It's only the most obvious 2 that you noticed :)

mmmm... strange because i have update and and my pi4 and the "binary" it's be used in all.
Were you able to determine which cores are being updated via source instead using binary ?
It's only Flycast ? if yes... i understood why i didn't have the same problem :) Simply because on my pi4 i don't use Flycast :) -

Unfortunately I've been unable to find a solution so far. In order to restore the functionality of the core, we've rolled back the changes - the core is again build from the libretro project's version of Flycast.
