Weird MAME4ALL glitch
-
Hello!
Recently, I got a raspberry pi 4b 4gb model. I am going to be building it into a retro handheld, so in preparation I got a full MAME4ALL(mame-2000) romset. I tested to make sure it works, and all the roms work completely fine.
So fast forward to toady. I was playing some MAME games and I decided to take a break. When I came back however, when ever I tried to launch a arcade game, the normal grey box will appear that comes up when you load a rom, then the screen goes black, and the loading box appears for a split second and it boots me back to the rom selection. Now none of the roms work. All my other console emulators work 100% fine.
I have no idea what could have caused this. The only things that changed between me playing arcade games and them not working was me installing a few roms for dreamcast, installing quake through the retropie setup, and installing a few new themes.
Could someone please help?

@tinyunknown156 Is the SD card full? The Dreamcast game could be huge. Any disc based system is going to be huge, The images in multiple themes could take up a lot of disk space.
You could always check, from the terminal (command line), with the
df -h
command. -
@tinyunknown156 The weirdest thing here is that you are gonna use a mame version from 22 years ago on a pi4 : the older the glitchier. While mame2003+ has a good balance between supported games, fixed bugs and performances on a pi4, the same is not true about the other vintaged mame cores from over a decade ago.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
