I've merged your topics, but you might want to adjust the 2nd post, you have used the topic title for the actual post. -
@mitu I'm trying to delete it but its not allowing me; its been over an hour now. Thanks for the merge though

If PCSX2 presents some kind of problem. I have used .bat files in windows, maybe a shell script could be used in place of the game file to load a command line version; I'll try it later today
-
I've seen some people getting PCSX2 via a RetroArch core too. I've had good success with RetroArch command's so it might be another option
-
Update:
I decided to sudo apt get PCSX2 instead of the appimage
And it's starting to launch the game now but it's still needs some command line parameters to work correctly. Just about fixed! -

Update:
I decided to sudo apt get PCSX2That's how the install module does it, too: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/emulators/pcsx2.sh

Problem fixed:
I read appimages cause all kinds of problems but I had an issue with the official Ubuntu version not having vulkan. Luckily all I had to do was get a hold of a repository that had Ubuntu packages of the more recent version of PCSX2. After installing it I just used the command PCSX2 and Pegasus had no problem launching it!Seems the issue is launching it with the appimage

@sleve_mcdichael yeah getting the right repository was the thing to install it this way. I don't know why devs are releasing appimages for emulators when they cause so many problems. I see it becoming common with other emulators too.

The latest appimage seems to boot games as well. But gamepad config is broken unless you edit some files.
