I have tried some thing with roms that dont play anymore on flycast new core and notice that if you put the bios files inside the zip file on the rom the game loads or if it tries to load and failed if you lucky and have a save.state you can enable the auto-load save state from setting and the game will load .
example in marvel vs capcom 2 it work
and in capcom vs snk 2 i dont have a save.state but i believe it will work too

    Currently running Retropie 4.7.19 on a Pi 4B 2GB
Overclock Settings: CPU 2000, GPU 600.

Because to the errors on running the Naomi games, the lr-flycast changes have been rolled back for now. Just update from binary and a functioning core will be installed.

well i notice with the new core and some settings most games run more faster than previous core so i keep the new for now.
Can you upload some save state of capcom vs snk 2 ?

@kounabi22 same situation here, i also noticed a performance-boost for several games.
So i will keep this build too and wait for a NAOMI-Fix, someday it will be available for sure.

@sirhenrythe5th Funnily enough, I noticed a performance degradation in some games with the newer version. For some reason, I didn't experience the general NAOMI crash issues that other users did. However, a few NAOMI/Atomiswave games had noticeably worse performance for me 😆

ok i have created save states for all the broken games with new flycast core and now all games run to normal with the auto-load fuction.

@chaoseffect I noticed the same. The Naomi version of Capcom VS SNK 2 is unplayable for me now, as the player sprites flicker and jitter on certain stages. I'm very disappointed and hope this issue gets fixed.

@dodonpachi For now, I reinstalled the old version of lr-flycast via the Retropie-setup script's reversion.

                        @mitu

is the new flyinghead core now being install in by the setup script or still the old one?

@kounabi22 the old one. But if this is now fixed we will be switching back to the new.

@kounabi22 No and it won't be switched right now because the new/upstream flycast core will not run on a Pi3 system.

@dodonpachi Still trying to make the upstream core/emulator work on a Pi3B system before we adopt it fully.

The crash on a Pi3 is solved, but there's still a rendering issue which, for the time being, makes the new core unsuitable for the Pi3.

Im trying to play Samurai Spirits: Tenkaichi in the current core and the sound is laggy and have some drop frame rates...when i put the backup new core the game runs smooth with no sound lag and drop frames.

@kounabi22 Sadly no, I've been testing various variants/versions so that it would work on both Pi3 and Pi4 but due to the lack of free time, I haven't found a solution. I'll have some more free time this summer, so I want to get back to updating the module and adding the standalone flycast instead of reicast.
