Show EXACT pixel dimensions for box art / screenshots etc in ES themes
-
Hello!
Wondering if there is and XML script which shows images and their exact, true pixel dimensions, 1:1 with source?<size> denotes a size expressed as a fraction, but setting this to 1, 1 still seems to display the image larger than its true dimensions. Unless I'm mistaken here!
<maxsize> sets limits on how far the image stretches, locking aspect ratio. Works well, but it's still hard to find the right numbers to show true 1:1 pixel dimensions from source.
I ask because I'm designing a theme with box art as the main focus, and don't want it scaled AT ALL! I want to appear 1:1 to it's source file, which I'm optimizing at precise sizes in Photoshop. Scaling of any kind introduces artefacts which deteroriate the image quality, and I want to optimize this quality to be the best it can be.
Thanks for your tips!

The latest EmulationStation version allows you to set the exact (pixels) dimensions for an element (including images), maybe that would help ?

@mitu That woud be useful yes! Do you know where I find that option or what the xml line entry might be for this?
Thanks for your reply. -
@Jimiga In the documentation - https://github.com/RetroPie/EmulationStation/blob/master/THEMES.md.
