      Problem solved! I just tried to use a different USB drive, and it worked!

        @SteavinRice is usbromservice installed & enabled under RetroPie-Setup > manage packages > optional packages?

          I appreciate your attempt to help. It was totally my fault. I just needed to use a different USB drive. And I apologize.

            @SteavinRice use the samba share method. So much easier :)
