      I was just looking to start a more comprehensive way to apply a lot more bezels/overlays to the games I have and was wondering what sort of options there are. I used to use a basic tool I wrote a few years ago 'rp-video-manager' but I'm thinking there are probably better ways to do it now, plus a lot more bezels available out there.

      It looks like there are a few projects out there, and certainly lots and lots of contributions of new bezels/overlays. So to try and review the options I made this shortlist. I'll probably use it to see how best to start applying the bezels - the easiest option looks to be the Bezel Project which is bundled with RetroPie. That said, I'm loving the look of the custom ones from orionsangel below.

      Hopefully this will help anyone who is looking for a collection of overlays (like I am!) who might want to either manually integrate them or use a utility to automate the process. And in case anyone needs the basics: https://docs.libretro.com/guides/libretro-overlays/

          @Floob

          Personally I prefer the "MAME Artwork" format. The screen format 16:9, 4:3 or others don't affect the visual rendering. If it's not already done, for some games, I convert "retroarch overlays format" in MAME Artworks format". Here I am not talking about the work done by the artists, they are all awsome!!!. I'm talking about the format only.

          You can found MAME Artworks (Arcade or other) here or here .

          And MAME Artworks for Handheld systems here .
          Just put them here : /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame/artwork
          It works for all "MAME" and lr-MESS.

          See Development of module-script generator for lr-mess and mame standalone and Bezels for Coleco tabletop arcade games for more details.
