Vic-20 rom options
-
Gday guys, 'Im trying to run a Vic-20 program with 35k ram and in NTSC mode but I can only get one or the other working not both.
I've tried all sorts of combinations of 'game(NTSC)(35k).prg'
but when NTSC is added it ignores the ram option.
Any ideas?
hanks

Have you tried this solution ? :
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10918/where-to-legally-acquire-content-to-play-on-retropie/411Here is the copy of the small animation I made for "VICE standalone" setting the most important settings.

@Folly The libretro core (
lr-xvic
) can automatically set those options based on the file name, so you don't have to manually set it for each game (and then save the game options).@kevgal seems like indeed, setting both the region and the memory expansion size doesn't work. Not sure if it's a core issue or a RetroPie specific limitation. What's the game you're trying to run ?

@mitu Thanks for the replies, I should have mentioned that am using lr-xvic on a R-pie 4 and also on a Chinese Android box both running Emulation Station + Retroarch and latest updates.
One example is 'Ultima - Escape From Mount Drash'
which is 8k NTSC.
I've converted most of the cart games to prg format (ie short basic program to copy ram to correct cart locations) and so need 32k of ram to run, unfortunately a lot of these are in NTSC mode so the screens are offset (if they work).
Is this an issue or is lr-xvic not meant to work with multiple tags?
Cheers

I've tried the game with RetroArch on another system (Windows) and it behaves similarly. It may be a core issue, the core restarts the emulation a couple of times to be able to auto-start the disk/prg and I think at one of these restarts it 'forgets' to set the memory expansion/region options.

@kevgal try updating from source the
lr-vice
package, the bug should be fixed.
