Emulator installation help
-
So, I read the wiki on github and I'm not understanding still how to get the emulators installed on RetroPi. I have a Pi 1 that I've just installed the OS on but I need the emulators and ROMs and whatnot. I understand the ROMs part as I see where to drop the files inside of the emulator link in the wiki, but installing the emulator isn't really clear. Can anyone elaborate on what to do after I download the files? I've done some Google searching but everything refers me back to the RetroPie download page for the "package with the OS and emulators" so I have no idea what I am missing...

The emulators are already installed, so just putting your roms in the relevant folder should make the menu appear in Emulation Station.

Ahh okay. Yeah I found a place to install binaries from source and I see the emulators there, just found this. But simply creating the emulator folders under /roms/emulatorname essentially will make the emulator show up? When I go into emulationstation I just get kind of an overall system menu, so I'm sort of confused. Everything I have seen had emulators on a horizontal scrolling menu in the middle of the screen and you go into whatever emulator from that main menu.

As stated by @Floob above, if no roms are present, the emulator will not appear.

Got it. The emulators will appear at the main menu where I see "RetroPie" with "Menu Select and Choose" at the bottom left, correct? Sorry for the noob questions, brand new to this platform.

@agentfazexx did you installed RetroPie from the SD image provided on the official site?
-
Yes I did. Used win32diskimager.
-
@agentfazexx OK. Just put the ROMs in the
RetroPie/roms/SYSTEM
directory (replace SYSTEM by the specific system, eg: nes, snes, etc.).The emulationstation shows only the systems which have roms to play.

Got it. Gonna get on that now. I guess they will show up next to the RetroPie link once data is there.
