Splashscreen Video not playing every time
-
Hello there,
I try to figure out why my Splashscreen-Video is not playing everytime (only 2 out of 5 times)
I put my video on my external USB-Drive at "/home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens/"
I thought that my USB-Drive is not mounting in time, so I mount it first before Emulationsstation starts, but it does not work every time.
Does anyone have similar problems and know how to fix this?RaspberryPi 3B(1gbRam)

The splashscreen is not played by EmulationStation, it's a separate service that's started earlier during the boot sequence. Most likely the USB is not available at the time it starts, so it's best to use a 'local' (i.e. on the SD card) folder for the videos/images used by the splashscreen.

@mitu thanks for the quick response!
sry I am new to retropie, how can I set the folder for my Splashscreens?Greetings from germany

@Manukan You can use the splashscreen configuration menu and choose the videos/images - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Splashscreen/.

@mitu It is still only playing every time, can I start this service earlier in the boot-process to make it more consistent?

Not sure what you mean, the
splashscreen
service is already started pretty early during the boot sequence.
