I am running RetroPie 4.8 on a Pi 3. I have run command working to show button configurations before game launch. I have Launch menu and Launch menu art both disabled so my run command .png shows up for the number of seconds I choose. I realize that I can set the seconds high, 100 for example, so that there is plenty of time to read more difficult control configurations. I can press button "Q" to exit run command and then start the rom. This is excellent, I but would like to change "Q" to another button that I have mapped to my control panel. I understand, I think, that it would be a .sh file, but writing scripts is a bit over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is a default script already written that I could alter, I'm just not able to find it. Thanks in advance. Retropie is truly amazing. I have been enjoying this whole process.

Runcommand displays the image with fbi (frame-buffer image viewer -- or feh if you're running under X); "Q" is just the key that exits fbi ("Esc" also works); I don't think you can change this with a script.

Thanks for the quick reply. That makes sense. I didn't realize the esc key worked as well. I can make that work. My cab used to have a PC, and esc is my exit game button. Q was always a bad button to program because it would bring up quit menus and what not in different emulators. Anyway, you're the best, thanks again.
