Hello, this weekend I found my old RPi3 B+ and thought on using it again as a retrogame center, but I have some problems using it. Firstly I try a sd with Raspbian and works perfectly and make an actualization. Everything goes well. After that I want to make the same with Retropie but actualization fail. No problem, I made a fresh install but since that, at the middle of the boot tha screen turns black and nothing happens whatever I do.

That's a YouTube video with the issue.

      Thank you

did you format the card? Make sure you do that instead of just over-writing it with a new build. Also, try another SD card. The card could be bad.

The SD-Card will be overwritten anyway if you start writing an image on it, no need to format at all.

@sirhenrythe5th as much as I'd like to bive that, it's best to clean it. I've seen the same on HDs and SD as well. Just an extra step, doesn't hurt anything.

@Quattoporte that leaves power supply and issue with the Pi itself.

Other than being hooked up to a monitor, is there anything else plugged in to it? Is it in a case or exposed?

Finally I found the problem. I try to boot without anything connected and works. My gamepad has a problem with the 4.8 version, because I used it in older versions. At least with the keyboard works fine. I have to test my other gamepads.

                  Thank you for the support.

Searching for some new game pad I remember that mine's has X-imput and D-imput capabilities. As standard comes in X-imput, and it works fine in previous versions of Retropie, now I'm on 4.8, but now I have issues with it and tried to change to D-imput and, it works!!! I don't know why but it works.

Maybe this information will be appreciated by some, one.
