Dolphin Emulator on Raspberry Pi 4 Model B ARMv7
-
Greetings! I have RetroArch installed on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (ARMv7 architecture):
pi@retropie:~ $ uname -a Linux retropie 5.10.103-v7l+ #1529 SMP Tue Mar 8 12:24:00 GMT 2022 armv7l GNU/Linux
It's working fine for the most part, and now I'd like to start playing Wii games. As far as I can tell, Dolphin supports ARMv7, however the
lr-dolphin
anddolphin
cores are not available when runningRetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
, stating they only support the 64bit flag. I've tried installing it manually using this guide, but after makingRetroPie/roms/wii
putting a.iso
in there, and rebooting, I don't see a wii section come up in Emulation Station. Are there any further steps I need to take?Edit: A couple more questions:
- Where do I get IDL.bin? It didn't seem to be in the
dolphin
git repo. - Is the core different from the dolphin
Sys
directory? If so, where do I get the core from?

@uplime I believe that will on work on the 64bit version of the OS.
At this time there is no ETA on when RetroPie will be releasing their build. But you can install the 64bit OS and the install RetroPie ontop of that.
I know there are a few posts of people doing that and talking about how well games work or don't work on it
Right now that's the only way you can get dolphin to work

Thanks! Just to clarify, I can install a 64bit on my Raspberry Pi 4 Model B instead of having to buy a new one with a 64bit chip?

Yes, the Pi4 B is already 64bit capable. That being said, don't expect
dolphin
to be full speed - even with a modest video resolution - on a Pi4.
