Sleep mode without disable network
-
Hi,
For the second time I tried, and now succeed, in installing RetroPie on a dedicated RPI1 model b rev2. I installed using an image from the site. Just one controller so far...
The problem is, and I believe very common, the lack of enough USB ports. So I´m using a USB hub, with seven ports but only two been used. Although there is some annoying LEDs on it that in my opinion only serve to waste energy. Anyway...
I´m using a nano wifi dongle that was laying around my desk, and after long time I was able to configure it. (Easy than I thought after all). But if I leave a couple minutes out of it, I lost connection. Doesn't matter if I´m connected through SSH, I lost it.
There is a way to get the ES to enter sleep mode without disable the network system? Or the USB ports? Thanks a lot.
P.S. I tried to search the forum before post this question to no avail...

ES power saving modes only work within the front-end, they don't have any effect on the system.
What you may encounter is the WiFi adapter going into power save and disconnecting. Try runningsudo iwconfig wlan0 power off
and see if the WiFi stays on. If that solves the issue, add the command to the start-up sequence so it's run every time the system boots.
