N64 Super Smash Bros freezes at "Loading Combiner Shaders"

Everytime I open smash bros melee on any emulators, im stuck with a screen that says "Loading Combiner Shaders 0.0%" and freezes my pi. I redownloaded the rom and tried different resolutions with different emulators. This only happened once in a while but it is now every time I try to launch it. It doesn't happen on other N64 games.
