No matter what image i use on RP3+ controllers wont get detected
-
So I been having this issue for along time now. No matter what Image of retropie I burn to the SD card? It never, ever finds controllers.
my keyboard works,
I tried resetting input config in the command.
did not work
I tried updating cores from source and binary in retopie-setup . I did get some errors (photos attached)
is there no simple way to fix this?
I am thinking its some issues with Joy2key?
I tried installing Xbox driver got error also (text file included)
after all that? I do get "controller detected" however nothing i press works.
I give up. what info can I give to help?
any suggestion would be a great help! thanks!Text file Xboxdriv error

@lovemehate the only supported image is the official one:
-
@sleve_mcdichael
I did not even notice there was one
ill def check it out!
is this the same one that comes with Raspberry pi imager ? -
No. It's a direct download from this forum's main website. It does not come with anything other than the image and a basic theme to get you started.
Before you load it, I would suggest buying at least one micro SD, whatever size you want and learn how all this works. There is a learning curve with RetroPie that can be very frustrating, however very rewarding when you figure it all out. Plenty of people here that can help, and many of us have done multiple builds. It's time consuming, especially some of the MESS based emulators, to get started, but once you learn where and how, it all makes sense and is very easy to work with.
You can then copy over you games and other stuff you might like from your other image. Then you will have a solid, untouched image to build your ultimate game machine on.
I have a Pi3b+ and I run everything up until PS1 and N64. It's gets a little tough for the Pi3 to handle those. But all old school and many early 90s PC games work really good.
Good luck.

Yes, Raspberry Pi Imager downloads the same images.
