Hi all, I am thinking about designing a new theme based on Neumorphism which is one of the current design trends and looks amazing.

A theme requieres lot of time, effort and skills ( if you want to do it right) and I have bad experiences with my previous free to download themes. Peolple download and sell them inside their builds.

I was thinking this time to make a free theme but supported by people. Basically it will depend on how much support it gets to be live. What do you think?

I really like your your themes. After my exams I wanted to make some custom collections, add some missing systems, add system launch screens and a splash screen fitting to your chicuelo theme.

I really like Neumorphism in general. If your theme based on it still fits to Retropie/gaming and I like it more than chicuelo theme, than I might as well use the time I would spend on adjusting a theme of your anyways to support your new theme.

Do you already have some mockups?

Sounds interesting! What did you have in mind for people supporting the theme?

@wildfire At first I thought making some sort of purchasable theme, but then I realized that my two first themes were free and people pirate & sell them as their work anyways. If I sell the files they will be soon in any link free to download. I think I will set a kickstarter style support system. If people is able to support the effort, theme will progress and if it goes live it will be a collective achievement.

@chicuelo Did you ever finish this Neumorphism-style theme you were planning to work on? Just curious!

gotcha! I haven't looked into Batocera, is it better than Retropie? I'm always looking for something more user friendly.

@bradbradbrad It's way way better than Retropie, more ES features, easy to install, easy to configure (no need to access to any repo), supports more systems, gets more updates, runs on multiple devices. There is no contest

The video is a bit dark because the recording board

I don't find it better than Retropie, I have used almost every version of Batocera on the raspberry pi4 and always run into issues. I personally find Retropie more stable and having better support. I had better luck with Batocera on my pc.

@Simrose In my personal experience, using and configuring multiple controllers in retropie involves going into the system file and changing the cfg file every time you want to change the controller (if you have custom mapping keys as I always use like volume). Also installing new systems, you have to enter to the repo and download different packages or drivers. With Batocera you place the bios files, roms and you are running, also you have a built in file browser inside the system, even if you want to configure any emulator setting you can do it right from the main menu without using a keyboard or entering any game. This is great to apply global settings like resolution, shaders or bezels.
For me its better and has much more options but Retropie has a better forum and support for solutions. This is my experience after years of using both.
