      Hi

I am a bit confused with this. I usually use one of the basic Snes Style USB controllers. This works great.
I have tried to use a PS3 controller lately and i have purchased the Zero Delay USB and Joystick.
I can configure BOTH the Ps3 and the Joystick(and buttons) from the main menu. Perfect. I can navigate the menu's with easy.
BUT and this is the confusing part. When I enter a game the configuration is totally ruined, when i exit a game and go back into the main menu its all over the place.
To Me it seems like when i go into a game a configuration is forced onto the controllers.
So i am looking for some help to resolve this. I just want to be able to play the games with these controllers.

      Thank you

      Rob

How did you fix this? Whenever I go and try to play SNES games it changes my PS3 controller configuration and the L and R buttons stop working.

@robthedude81 can you imagine a patient going into a doctor that had been seeing him for ages with a worsening cancer and then finds the cure, then doctor calls to check up and he responds. Oh I found the cure to cancer. All sorted. Then hangs up.

Not quite life or death, but other people would appreciate solutions to issues if you've found them. Though I'd be willing to bet it was user error in the first place and the answer is almost certainly already in the documentation.

@herb_fargus Perhaps, I'm still scouring the forums looking.

This is currently happening to me too. The SNES controller and joystick config works in emulation station but not within the games.

                    I get the same message

@herb_fargus I agree and that is freaking annoying, just like a recent topic in which the guy simply deleted his post and said it was solved.

                          Re: Losing controller config
SOLVED: for those still having this issue. (This is not my original thread but I'm going to solve it)

One of my 4 controllers was mounted upside down. So when I would go to configure it. it was perfect, then I would go in a game and come out and it would be broke again, If I reconfigured the controllers they would repeat this behavior.. Someone mentioned it in another post to mount them all the same and it worked flawless. So if you have arcade controls i.e.: joystick and buttons and you can't hold a configure when you enter or exit games or menus. First Check to make sure ALL Joysticks are Aligned the same way. I had one in upside down and it would effect all 4 of them.

@enlikil You sir are a godsend. This was exactly my issue. Thank you for your input.

@x8xid82 The user is unlikely to notice it, since their profile shows the last login in October 2016 (I reflexively check that for old posts). But still a nice gesture. 🙂
