Mupen64plus exit button on a wireless Xbox 360 controller
-
Checked a few Youtube tutorials and the wiki and just cannot seem to get the exit button working on my 360 wireless controller.
I've gone to the retroarch from the setting menu and been able to configure my game controls fine using the input mapping and then assigned the exit key under the "input hotkey binds". The Escape key on the keyboard was already assigned under "Quit Retroarch" so I pressed enter and then the home button on the controller. I can now see I have "10 (N/A) and (Key: Escape). Saved the configuration before exiting.
Also, manually put in the configurations in the mupen64plus.cfg file ("# Joystick event string for stopping the emulator Joy Mapping Stop = "") and tried different combinations of "J0B10,J1B10,J2B10,J3B10,J4B10" and I still cannot get it to work.
Also tried to do a controller test to see what

Noticed that my previous post was unfinished....I meant to say that I also tried to do a controller test but to see which keys responded.
I should also mention that that regardless of what I add in the mupen64plus.cfg file, the line is then empty again upon reboot as it was never edited. I'm making sure I'm saving the file prior to exiting . I've tried changing the value in the file remotely and in the command line via putty - but It continues to reset when I reboot.

Ok, so there's two different n64 emulators(one has 3 video options). lr-mupen64plus should let you exit exactly the same as the rest of your lr- emulators since it's retroarch based. Which means it reads directly off of your retroarch-joypads controller config file for controls and hotkeys. No matter what you put in mupen64plus.cfg, lr-mupen64plus does not care.
The second one, standalone mupen64plus-, is the one that typically gives people trouble. It is set up to generate a line for
Joy Mapping Stop =
at runtime based on the enable and exit hotkeys in your retroarch-joypads file. If for any reason it's not functioning properly, you must disable this autoconfiguration before trying to hard code in an escape sequence since it will just get overwritten. Here is a post that gives you the rundown on how to disable the script.

Thanks for the link wetriner - wish I had checked this earlier as I was able to resolve it just before checking the forum!
The method I followed appears slightly different. It took going to to the "/configs/all" directory editing the autoconfig.cfg file. Changed the setting on the the "mupen64plus_hotkeys" from 1 to 0. And then going to the mupen64plus.cfg file and changing the "joy mapping stop" to "J0B10". Ensuring to save the both files before exiting. I again was required to use the command lines as the file would not save remotely from windows.
I nearly have my controller working 100% across all emulators except for Dreamcast - just cannot find a solution to get trigger buttons working. :(
