After researching, I can't seem to find a way to make "favorites" or another specified game list as the only viewable game list in kiosk mode. My goal is to favorite the games that work well with my current 3 button set up and set RP to kiosk mode to allow my children to play while reducing the risk of them inadvertently tampering with other settings....Any help in achieving this would be appreciated.

I am using Pi 3B, RP version 4.8.2

@cjc1972 emulation station has two restricted access modes. Kid mode and kiosk mode. Both are the opposite from each other. In kiosk mode, you choose what games are hidden, and set each and set each game to hidden that you don’t want seen. Kid mode is the opposite you set a game to “kid” which will only show those games. . You can enable the favorites lists and put all your kid mode games in there or do a custom collection. The each individual systems will still show up with just a list of the approved games.
Just know that these modes don’t disable the ability to open the retroarch menu, but you can restrict it by disabling that hotkey for the controllers that your kids use (modify the settings file in the config folder). Any other controller or keyboard will still have access.

@cjc1972 I’m not near my pi, but from your network, I think it’s under configs then retroarch and then I think it’s a folder called “autoconfig”. Not sure. But there’s a folder with cfg txt files for the different controllers you have configured. Open the config file for the controller you want to edit and you see a config for the retroarch menu hot key or something like that. Just erase that line. Just save that and it will disable the menu for that controller only.
